New Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master: Meet Giovanna
We’re excited to introduce Giovanna, our new Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master. Born and raised in Mexico City, she speaks four languages (Spanish, English, French and Italian!) and has travelled to more than 50 countries over the past ten years. Giovanna has a BS in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, and came to Sydney in 2012 to do a Master’s degree in IT Management. Between her positive attitude, leadership skills, and extensive consulting background, we know Giovanna will be a great addition to the ProQuest team.
Here’s how she answered our questionnaire:
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?
During the week I like to go for a swim and try a new happy hour spot to catch up with new and old colleagues. I used to do standup and might re-take it again this year. In the weekends anything that is outdoors like trekking, long coastal walks or picnics. If the weather decides to be mean, I like going to the cinema or indoor rock climbing. When I have more time I like traveling.
What would you sing at karaoke night?
Probably "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. It would need to be too late into the night, though.
Tell us something we don’t know about you?
I am an only child.
What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?
WhatsApp (Spotify a close second).
What is your favourite place to go in Sydney?
Gordon's Bay.
What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Sydney?
Sushi on Stanley for a quick bite. Monopole for a longer meal.
What attracted you to ProQuest?
Kate's enthusiasm! Also the company culture, its Agile approach and the low turnover rates.
What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?
The team. It is just absolutely great. I get the first impression of being surrounded by true professionals that are committed to their work and enjoy being here. Everyone seems really approachable which is a big plus for me. In just four days we’ve already had catered breakfast, potluck, a team outing to Paniq Room, and after work drinks… ProQuest is really the best! It is exceeding my expectations so far, which is great.
