New Marketing Automation & Strategy – Lead Consultant: Meet Sophia

Meet the newest addition to the ProQuest family, Sophia Wilson! Sophia joins us at an exciting time as our Lead Marketing Automation & Strategy Consultant. We are about to launch our Marketing Automation practice, and Sophia will be leading the charge. Sophia is a passionate Marketing Automation professional with over five years experience in marketing and digital - she also holds tertiary qualifications in both marketing and business. We’re very excited to have her on board!

Here’s a bit more about her:

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?

I love nature, from the beach to the bush, so you might find me at a National Park or in the water. By night, or maybe even in the day if the opportunity presents, you might find me dancing away. I also love spending time with family and friends. And the opportunity to expand my knowledge in most areas, I enjoy keeping my finger on the pulse of technology, design and health.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

Participating in karaoke is a very rare occurrence for me, like the transit of venus. But, in this rare event I would probably punch out Michael Jackson - "Billie Jean" or Britney Spears - "Oops I Did It Again".

Tell us something we don’t know about you?

At the very start of my career I worked in the fashion and jewellery industries, where I even dabbled in diamond setting, as a diamond setting apprentice.

What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?

Excluding the very obvious ones - Google, YouTube, WhatsApp, ect… I would have to say designboom, for it's interesting content from design to technology, which perfectly compliments my line of work and background, not only from a career perspective but I also come from a very design/creative oriented family.

What is your favourite place to go in Sydney?

At the moment probably Coogee to enjoy the summer.

What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Sydney?

Currently Two Chaps in Marrickville - they have a great vegetarian and vegan menu including homemade kombucha and awesome vegan doughnuts!

What attracted you to ProQuest?

There was not just one thing that attracted me to ProQuest - but many!

1) The culture: from the outset, one thing was clear to me, that ProQuest had a great culture, which I talk more about in my answer to the next questions. My first impression was an energetic, friendly, eager workplace. I remember getting a voicemail from the awesome Employee Experience Manager, in part of the message she mentioned that she was about to teach the team yoga - that definitely let off a cool vibe!

2) Shared vision: from my initial conversations with the team I felt like we had a shared vision of how to get things started.

3) Aligned values: ProQuest have a great set of values that really fit well with my values

4) Opportunities to build and grow: the great opportunity to consult in something I'm passionate about and help build a new service offering, which is extremely exciting

What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?

Great culture. Being a part of the team for a few days has confirmed that the ProQuest team does have great culture with great people and values. The team is very team oriented, collaborating with each other. Everyone very friendly and welcoming. ProQuest has a number of team activities one of which is, OneQuest Wednesday, which I love, where we all have lunch together in the office and learn about something new and interesting.

Welcome to ProQuest, Sophia! We’re thrilled to have you and can’t wait to see you shine.
