Our Top Salesforce Winter 25 Updates: Admin Essentials & Flow Enhancements

The Salesforce's Winter 25 release is here, and it's packed with updates we’re buzzing about! Whether you’re an admin or developer, we at ProQuest Consulting believe these new features will make your life a whole lot easier, helping you save time and work smarter—not harder.

In this three-part blog series, we’ll break down the most exciting features that are about to shake up how you get value from Salesforce. Let’s dive in!

Winter 25 Updates: Admin Essentials

Admins are the backbone of any Salesforce implementation, keeping everything running smoothly, managing access, and resolving issues. The Winter 25 release introduces some fantastic tools to streamline those processes:

  1. User Access and Object Access Summary: This gives you a single view of how a user’s and object’s permissions are granted.

Instead of digging through permission sets, profiles, and roles (we know how fun that is), you can now view all that info in one place! Faster resolutions, better visibility, and fewer headaches when managing permissions across large teams or complex projects.

  1. Public Groups Membership: Admins can now easily view, add, and remove users from public groups with an upgraded UI.

This feature gives better performance and visibility into groups, making management much simpler. You can search across all current or available members, add or remove up to 100 members at a time.

Winter 25 Updates: Flow Enhancements

Say hello to more flexibility in creating dynamic, real-time experiences with fewer manual interventions. With the upgrades in this release, automating complex processes without needing to dive deep into code helps make life easier for admins and developers work more efficiently and simplify data management.

  1. Upsert Records and Collections: Create and update multiple records in one step within a flow.

Previously, you had to rely on Data Loader for bulk upserts. Now, you can create a block in flows to handle fields more efficiently, simplifying the process and reducing complexity when working with large amounts of existing data inside Salesforce.

Take note: This feature currently supports only standard fields, but we’re excited for the possibility of custom fields in future updates!

  1. Action Buttons for More Dynamic Screen Flows: Add action buttons to trigger autolaunched flows that retrieve and process data in real-time.

These buttons enable fewer screens but create more dynamic user interactions. You can pull in data from anywhere in your org, not just the records assigned to the user, making your flows more flexible and powerful.

Take note: Ensure your Flow is updated to API version 59 or higher. This feature isn’t supported in classic runtime for Flows

  1. Transform Data into More Target Resource Types: Transform data into simple values like text and numbers, without relying on records or Apex-defined types.

This update is a huge time-saver for handling complex calculations and makes data manipulation much more efficient. Plus, you can now add formulas and create results without needing to build another loop.

  1. Generative Formulas for Flow: Leverage Einstein AI to help you generate formulas using natural language processing (NLP).

This feature is a huge help for admins who aren’t formula experts. Just describe what you need, and Einstein AI will create the formula for you, reducing the complexity of building out Flows.

Take note: Einstein AI must be enabled in your org, and this feature is currently in beta.

Caution: Generative AI can sometimes produce inaccurate or harmful responses, so make sure to thoroughly test your formula for accuracy and safety before activating your Flow.
