New Associate Functional Consultant: Meet Nik

🎉 Meet Our New Associate Functional Consultant, Nikhil Kumar! 🎉
We’re thrilled to introduce Nikhil Kumar to the ProQuest family. Transitioning from a science teacher to a Salesforce consultant, Nik’s journey is as unique as it is inspiring. His blend of technical know-how and knack for simplifying complex concepts is a perfect match for our commitment to delivering outstanding Salesforce solutions.

We asked Nik a few questions to get to know him a bit better…

What part of Salesforce do you love the most? Why?
What really got me into Salesforce was their amazing training platform, Trailhead. They’ve put so much effort in to empowering users, to learn at their own pace and understand the system, whether they’re front-end users or working backstage. This platform was a big part of my shift from teaching to tech.

And who wouldn’t want their solutions to be super-efficient? I get a real kick out of seeing solutions that are well-crafted and help customers hit their goals using tech. It’s clear that Salesforce is all about adding value for their customers, helping them get more from their work and I’m keen to be a part of it.

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?
Whenever I get the time music is my go-to. Whether it’s playing the guitar or drumming, it’s my kind of relaxation. And, admittedly, I’m a bit of a concert junkie – my growing collection of concert tickets and stacks of vinyl records can attest to that.

When I’m not at work, I’m all about outdoor adventures. You can often find me camping in the bush or enjoying a swim. If the weather isn’t cooperating, I’m up for the challenge of an escape room – although it can get quite competitive!

Otherwise I’m also often tinkering with my 4wd – seems like I’m working on it more than I’m driving it! And for something else close to my heart, I volunteer with kids at the local church – it’s a fulfilling way to give back and stay connected to the community.

What would you sing at Karaoke night?
It’s taken me three days to decide haha, but for karaoke – it’s got to be something fun, right? So, I’d go with “Hey Ya” by Outkast. It’s a track my church friends and I often jam to. It never fails to end our day on a high note, leaving us all with positive vibes.

What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?
Maps are essential for me. They keep me on track, quite literally, as I’m not the best with directions.

What is your favourite part of working from home?
The absence of a commute is a major plus. I live quite far from the heart of Sydney, so it saves up on time I can use for other activities like morning swims and experimenting with new recipes.

What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Sydney/Australia?
I have a soft spot for Chicken Schnitzels at local pubs. It’s a simple yet satisfying choice.

What attracted you to ProQuest?
What really stood out to me about ProQuest was their approach to hiring employees. They place a real emphasis on skills and also potential, it’s not just about how long someone’s been in the Salesforce ecosystem but skills they have that can easily be transferred. I found it refreshing to be valued for what I know and can do, rather than just for the time I’ve spent in the field.

During my interview, it was clear they weren’t just ticking boxes based on a job description. ProQuest really digs deeper, focusing on practical knowledge and aligning with their core values, which I deeply resonate with. It’s great to be part of a team that genuinely values the ability to contribute, rather than just the experience on your CV.

What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?
Hands down, it’s the team. There’s a real sense of togetherness and community. Everyone is focused on doing great work and helping clients get the most out of their Salesforce solutions. It’s energising to be around such a skilled bunch. Everyone’s been super welcoming, and it’s clear there’s heaps of talent in the team. I’m really keen on learning from them all. It’s a place where I feel encouraged to both share my ideas and expand my skills.

Welcome aboard, Nik! Your dynamic talents and fresh perspectives are a fantastic addition to the ProQuest family. We’re eager to see the energy and innovation you will bring to our team and clients.
