We’re super excited to welcome Damian Pauley to the ProQuest team as our New Functional Consultant 🎉
With a background in mechanical engineering and over a decade of experience in maintenance, asset management, and master data administration, Damian brings a wealth of industry knowledge and technical expertise. Having first worked with Salesforce during a Field Service implementation project, he quickly recognised its flexibility and power in driving data-driven insights for continuous improvement. Damian is passionate about helping organisations unlock the full value of Salesforce, and his unique blend of engineering know-how and platform expertise will make him a trusted partner for our clients.
We asked Damian a few questions to get to know him a bit better...
What part of Salesforce do you love the most? Why?
I love how much you can do with Salesforce. It’s exciting to take any company’s process and build it into the platform in a way that actually makes sense for users. Compared to other tools I’ve seen, it’s just amazing how flexible it is.
The nerd in me also loves the data side. With Field Service, you can pull out so much valuable information on things like scheduling, technician performance and breakdowns. You get it fast and at scale, which is gold for making improvements. Of course, it all starts with putting good data in, but once you do that, the insights you get back are brilliant.
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working:
When I’m not at work you’ll usually find me outside on my bike, running for triathlon training. I particularly enjoy cycling because it gives me a sense of exploration and lets me take in some beautiful scenery… although most times it’s just about riding to the bakery.
I also play in a band which is always a good time, and when I’m at home I love hanging out with my dogs.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
That’s a tough one because I’m in a band that plays covers from the 90s and 00s, mostly pop and emo songs. If I had to pick, I’d probably go with a Blink 182 classic like All the Small Things. It suits my vocal range and it’s a great one to get everyone singing along.
What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?
Definitely Strava. Without it I wouldn’t know how many kilometres I’ve done in a week or how I’m tracking against my yearly goals. Last year I went past 1,000 km and this year I’m aiming for 6,000 km. For me it is more than just the numbers. I really enjoy the time on the bike because it clears my head and helps me build strength in a consistent way.
What is your favourite part of working from home?
My favourite part of working from home has to be the company of my retired racing greyhounds. They love to make guest appearances on video calls which always gives people a laugh. I also really value the flexibility and the sense of camaraderie in the team. Even though we are all based in different locations, it still feels like we are closely connected.
What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Australia?
One of the best things about Australia is the variety of food options. I’m a big fan of breakfast cafes and I always start my day with good coffee and a solid breakfast. I’m especially into cold coffee like an iced latte or iced coffee, even in winter.
What attracted you to ProQuest?
For me it was definitely the people. I’d had such a positive experience working alongside the team in the past and it left a real impression. The same great people are still here today, so I was excited about the chance to join them properly and spend more time working together.
What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?
My favourite part has to be the diversity of projects. There are always different applications coming through which means it never feels repetitive. There is always a new challenge and a chance to learn something. On top of that the team has been really supportive, open and welcoming which makes the work even more enjoyable.
Join us in welcoming Damian to the ProQuest family! We’re excited to have you on board and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make. 🎉😊
