Meet Mike: New Functional Consultant

We’re super excited to welcome Mike Tye to the ProQuest team 🎉

With a background spanning accounting, aviation, marine and tourism, Mike brings a sharp eye for data and a knack for turning messy systems into streamlined solutions. His journey with Salesforce began back in 2017, and he’s been hooked ever since, helping businesses unlock smarter insights and cleaner processes.

When he’s not optimising workflows, you’ll likely find Mike spending time with his family or out on the water (he previously ran a boat hire business on the Gold Coast). When he has a bit more time, he keeps active with tennis, running and cycling. A true all-rounder, Mike brings both energy and experience, and we can’t wait for our customers to meet him.

We asked Mike a few questions to get to know him a bit better...

What part of Salesforce do you love the most? Why?

Definitely Flows. They make life easier by simplifying the little day-to-day tasks that can be such a pain. I’ve been in those roles where you’re doing endless checks or hunting for documents, so it’s great to help others cut that out and make things run smoother.

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working:

Most of my free time is spent with the family, usually out on the water or keeping active. I’ve played tennis since I was a kid, and I still try to get out for a hit when I can. These days it’s more about staying fit and healthy rather than training for anything specific, and avoiding injuries helps too!

What would you sing at Karaoke night?

Usually something like Robbie Williams’ Rock DJ or one of the old England football songs. Rock DJ is a fun one with a bit of rapping, and it’s one of the few songs I actually know all the words to. Plus, it came out when I was about ten, so it’s a bit of a classic for me.

What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?

WhatsApp, without a doubt. The group chats with friends are the best for a good laugh. It’s where we share jokes, funny pictures and just keep in touch, especially when everyone’s at home.

What is your favourite part of working from home?

Definitely not having to commute. It gives me more time with the kids, which is great. I’ve also got my home setup just the way I like it. I can pick the music, set the temperature and not have to argue with anyone about the air conditioning.

What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Australia?

We don’t eat out too much, but I love a good barbecue. I’m all about the big cooks for big groups of people, like smoking meats or doing a huge brisket or a few big steaks. It’s more about the social side of it, everyone hanging out and helping, rather than one person being stuck in the kitchen.

What attracted you to ProQuest?

It was the fact that it’s run by technical people. The leadership actually understands what it’s like to be in our shoes as consultants. They know what it takes to deliver great products, not just make things look good on paper. I’d also seen ProQuest listed as a Great Place to Work, which really stood out.

After finishing my masters, I was freelancing and looking for a team to join, so I went through the top Salesforce consultants in Australia and found ProQuest. I reached out, had a great chat, and the rest is history.

What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?

I’m really enjoying my time at PQ. Everyone’s been so nice, helpful and collaborative. We recently had a team session where one of the staff, Damian, did a presentation about ducks being the best athletes, which perfectly captured how fun, creative and excellence-focused the culture is here.

Join us in welcoming Mike to the ProQuest family! We’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make. 🎉
