We asked Alex a few questions to get to know him a bit better...
What part of Salesforce do you love the most? Why?
I love how quickly you can bring an idea to life in Salesforce. Being able to prototype something fast, test it with users, and then iterate based on their feedback is where the real value comes in. It is agile, collaborative, and focused on delivering outcomes that matter.
I have always enjoyed the UI and UX side of things too. It is a great space where my technical background and design thinking come together. Even during early-stage prototyping, Salesforce allows you to build solutions that are not just functional but also intuitive and user-friendly.
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working:
I love getting outside with my family. We often head out on little family trips, go for walks, or explore the countryside and coast. There is so much natural beauty here in Australia, and we try to make the most of it. I really enjoy casual hikes and just being out in nature, especially around Brisbane and the surrounding areas. It is a great way to unwind and reset.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
I wouldn’t say singing is my strong suit, so I usually leave that to others. But if I had to give it a go, I’d probably choose Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.
What is the one website (or app) you can’t live without?
Definitely Notion. I love how flexible it is for organising, building out ideas, and even creating quick low-code or no-code prototypes. It is simple but powerful, and it helps me stay on top of things without getting in the way. I use it all the time.
What is your favourite part of working from home?
I really enjoy making my own coffee in the morning and then jumping straight into work. Coffee shops are great for the weekends, but when things are busy and I need to be on time, it is hard to beat just heading downstairs and making a pour over with my Chemex. It has become a bit of a ritual for me, therapeutic in a way, and definitely my favourite way to start the day.
What is your favourite restaurant or go-to food in Australia?
Right now, it is a little place called Al Fanso Pizzeria. They do proper wood-fired pizza and it is amazing. It feels really traditional, and you can tell they take pride in doing it well. Definitely my go-to when I am craving something good.
What attracted you to ProQuest?
It started with researching great places to work in Australia, especially within the Salesforce space and companies working with OmniStudio. ProQuest kept coming up, not just as a leader in the industry but also as a company people genuinely speak highly of. Seeing that it was a Top 2 awardee in the Best Places to Work in Technology, along with all the other awards, really encouraged me to look deeper.
The more I read, the more it became clear that ProQuest has a strong culture and reputation. The balance between high performance and work-life balance stood out, and the E.T.H.I.C.S. values were not just words. They show up in how the team operates. That kind of environment is a huge advantage for both employees and clients, and it really resonated with me.
What is your favourite part about working at ProQuest so far?
Definitely the people. Everyone has been so kind and helpful from day one. Any time I have a question or need support, someone is always willing to go out of their way to help and make sure I feel welcome and understand what is going on. It really does feel like a place where you belong.
Join us in welcoming Alex to the ProQuest family! We’re excited to have you on board and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make. 🎉😊
